Investing in our youth through conservation education

Greenland Point Center is offering a new program, Maine Waterways Adventures (MWA), an advanced Conservation Camp for teens.  It is open for both boys and girls, ages 13-16.  It will start on Sunday at 4:00 PM and end with a graduation ceremony, Friday at 11:00 AM.

The MWA program is designed to instill a continued sense of stewardship for Maine’s wilderness.  As a result of our program, each teen will develop a renewed spirit, self-confidence, a sense of adventure and a respect and love for the outdoors.

The program is a wilderness expedition paddling the inland waters of Washington County.  In this serene setting, campers will develop canoeing skills while enjoying activities such as swimming, fishing, hiking, and learning about wilderness ecosystems, land ethics, and low-impact camping techniques.

MWA campers will spend Sunday night getting to know one another and preparing to leave for the wilderness Monday morning.  They return on Thursday and get to enjoy a lodge cooked meal and hot showers.  On Friday they participate in fun activities together, prior to graduation.

The total cost of MWA is $400.  To register for MWA please fill out the registration form and send it along with your $100 deposit to the address given above.  Upon receipt of your registration card, we will send you a confirmation packet, which will include health forms and a list of items to bring.  Spots are limited so reserve yours today.
