Mission Statement
The Mission of The Greenland Point Center is to promote healthy lifestyles and environmental stewardship by providing all children and adults, including those with disabilities, with a natural setting and programs that teach outdoor skills, leadership, ethics, and alternatives to substance abuse.
We realize this mission with a special appreciation and understanding of our Maine ecological heritage and an acknowledgement of the responsibility we have to continue this legacy.
Outdoor Education Opportunities for Teachers
For educators, Safari Club International is offering American Wilderness Leadership or AWLS-EAST. Teachers from all over come to Greenland Point for a week and learn about nature, the environment, outdoor living skills and conservation. We travel to many interesting locations in Washington County while taking advantage of all that GPC has to offer. Educators can earn 3 hours of graduate credit. Click here for more information.
Cost of Camps
The total Camp Fee is $500.00, unless otherwise stated. The Family deposit is $100.00. If scholarships are less than $400.00, the family must make up the difference. GPC has limited scholarships available to low to medium income families who must show proof of need.

Outdoor Adventures
Our 1 Week programs begin on Sunday with a 4pm registration and end at 11am the following Friday.
Wet-N-Wild (WNW) for ages 8 - 12, offers outdoor adventure through experiential education, independent exploration and a wide variety of fun gamees and water sports. The Wet 'n' Wild program teaches conservation through fun games and exciting outdoor recreational adventures. This program prepares children to go on to Maine Conservation Camp. Wetter-N-Wilder for ages 13 -17. A Wet-N-Wild for the older crowd! Conservation Camp (GPCCC) for ages 10 - 15, is a one week program for young people 10 to 14 years of age. Campers learn about the Maine woods and how to safely participate in the outdoor opportunities the program provides. *The Inland Fisheries and Wildlife offers scholarship for the Conservation Camp. Winter Conservation Camp (WCC) for ages 9 - 16. The weekend will include the Maine Snowmobile Safety Course, along with many of Maine’s favorite winter activities, such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice-skating, ice fishing, winter hiking, and more! Maine Extreme Adventures (MEA) for ages 13 - 17. Choose between a one week or two week adventure! The one week adventure offers the traditional Maine Waterways Trip, experiencing nature at it's finest; canoeing, swimming, fishing, exploring, navigating on a trek through some of Maine's most pristine wilderness. Ramp it up on the two week trip with biking, mountain climbing, sea kayaking and cliff hiking!! It will start with registration on Sunday, and end with a graduation ceremony, on Friday. Skills Camps
Fishing Camp is for ages 12 - 16. Step up your fishing skills with this specialized program based on the "Hooked on Fishing,Not on Drugs (HOFNOD)program and supported by the Maine IF&W.Learn species,habitat, angling tips and spend a day on the lakes with the famous Grand Lake Stream Guides! Paddling Camp is for ages 12 - 16. Knowing how to handle a canoe or kayak in all sorts of situations is exciting and necessary for those who love being on the water.Learn advanced paddling techniques and then put your knowledge to the test on the St. Croix flowage !Maine IF&W Boater Safety course included. Archery Camp is for ages 12 - 16. NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) certified instructors will guide the novice through all aspects of this challenging sport. Special Programs
Downeast Teen Leadership Camp Leadership training for 7th - 9th graders. DETLC is a five-day residential camp for students entering grades 7, 8, or 9 in Washington County. DETLC creates a safe environment in which students learn from each other through student led workshops such as “How to Raise Your Parents” and “Teens and Dating”. Motivational speakers that come from all over the country begin each day of camp. Safari Club International Maine Chapter: Maine Youth Hunter Apprenticeship Progam, for ages 12 - 15, this program gives youth an apprentice experience in the hunting heritage of Maine, while they experience wilderness activities, conservation history, and ecological principals.This is One Exciting Week! Equestrian Camp If you love horseback riding or would like to learn, this is the camp for you! In partnership with the First Light Equine Rescue Center. All aspects of caring, grooming, feeding, equipment, arena and trail riding! Campers will also be able to take advantage of Greenland Point’s activities such as swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking and more. IF&W Boater Safety Certification included. Outdoor Schools Teachers can satisfy the Maine Learning Results with curriculum that can be customized for each school's needs. Outdoor Day Camps, for ages 6-8 and 9-12. Day Campers will enjoy Greenland Point’s activities such as swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, team building and challenge games.
